ESPN is reporting that in order for Brett Favre to play in 2010, he is going to have to have surgery on his ankle. Favre’s friend, Steve Mariucci has said on the NFL network that in order for him to play next year, surgery is the only option. “He’s trying to heal up . His body is recovered except for his ankle. That’s not quite ready yet. It’s an ankle that he had surgery on twice before and it’s still pretty puffy. You remember he came out of that game with the ankle and went back in , but’s it’s still swollen” said Mariucci.

As the start of training camp inches closer, the Favre watch will be getting under way soon.

One of the glaring weaknesses on a very solid Vikings team is the cornerback position. I fully expect Minnesota to address that deficiencystarting in the draft Thursday night. But in a stop gap measure, the Vikings signed the oft injured CB Lito Sheppard.

Sheppard is nearly 30 years of age and will be playing now for his third team in three years. He brings with him a resume including 19 career interceptions and 284 total tackles.

I believe he is nothing more than veteran depth to prop up already aging CB’s Antoine Winfield and Cedric Griffin. Sheppard was an affordable 2 million dollar 1 year contract. Sheppard was released by the New York Jets on March 4th of this year as coach Rex Ryan decided not to exercise his option for 2010.

Minnesota DE Jared Allen has always been considered to be one of the NFL players who is thinking “Out of the Box”, but this video which surfaced on the internet today should send a chill up the spine up every owner’s back in the NFL.

The maggot website TMZ has decided after the Tiger Woods issue, that they now want to cover sports as well as movie stars and constantly harass nearly everyone in the public eye by either following them or paying for video from people who follow others.
