Brett Favre to Dancing With the Stars?

On Friday Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress did an interview with KFAN and spoke of all things, Brett Favre.

[picappgallerysingle id="6053236"]

Childress was asked 9 different ways whether or not Brett Favre was going to return. After all, what’d you expect Childress to talk about? Food? After saying for the 574,317th time, he did not know what Favre’s intentions are. However an interesting answer came out when Childress was asked about if Favre’s ankle surgery was for a guest spot on Dancing with the Stars. Childress responded, “That’s getting more credible all the time. Just keep going with that. You may be on to something.”

What? Favre on DWTS? Maybe he could partner up with Saints S Darren Sharper, then again, Sharper might continually step on his ankle since X marks the spot.

And oh yeah, Childress did talk about food. “I’m a hot dog guy. I love hot dogs. That was a Saturday feast for me as a kid. Scrub the floors and let’s cook hot dogs.” Good Times.

Jared Allen Cuts His Hair-WHO CARES?

Minnesota Viking free spirit DE Jared Allen cut his hair. Stop the presses.

[picappgallerysingle id="7790501"]

He cut his hair because his soon to be wife requested it for his upcoming wedding. Big freaking deal. I saw 47 news stories related to Allen cutting his hair today. Did he send a Tweet? How about a Tweetpic at the barbershop? Has he updated his Facebook status? How many Mullet Militia T’s did he sell this week? Is he selling his hair on Ebay?

Allen has been quoted when speaking of his mullet cut, “The mullet isn’t just a hairdo. It’s definitely a lifestyle.” It’s what? Did he actually use the word hairdo? I thought that word went out with the Mary Tyler Moore Show. But I guess he can use whatever word he wants to, anyone who hunts with a 6 foot spear can get away with more than the average folk.

He’s BACK! Maybe………….

Minnesota Vikings’ QB Brett Favre had ankle surgery. (or did he?) Last week Favre told the Southern Mississippi baseball team if they returned to the College World Series, he’d return to Minnesota. Now that he’s had surgery on the world’s most famous ankle, the insanity known as Favre Watch will commence post haste.

Chester Taylor Should STOP Drinking Before Interviews

Ex-Minnesota Viking RB Chester Taylor must be drunk. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, he tried to compare Jay Cutler to Brett Favre. Huh? Oh, it doesn’t stop there my friends, he went on to say Bears RB Matt Forte is similar to Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. What?

[picappgallerysingle id="7363222"]

Taylor said speaking of Cutler, “I can see the leadership in him that I saw in Brett Favre”. Taylor continued, “He has a strong arm and he’s just so determined”. Cutler’s determined alright. Determined to throw another interception. He was determined about 26 times last year. Cutler’s mind blowing decisions to force the ball where it doesn’t belong are reminiscent of Favre early in his career, I’ll give Taylor that, but that’s where the comparisons end.

Speaking about teammate Matt Forte, Taylor commented. “I see a lot in him (Forte) that I saw in Adrian”. Well, they are both running backs. They did both fumble about the same number of times last year, but that’s about where the similarities stop for me. Taylor has double the rushing yardage and is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Forte is a threat to trip everytime he has the ball. Taylor has 40 touchdowns in 3 season. Forte will be lucky to score 40 in his career.

Taylor is obviously trying to make the best out of a bad situation in Chicago, like the axiom, when life hands you lemons make lemonade. There’s a saying I like better though, you can’t polish a turd. Maybe next time Taylor will put away the Patron before speaking with members of the media.

Vikings Gerhart forbidden from OTA’s

The Minnesota Viking’s newest offensive weapon, RB Toby Gerhart is forbidden from participating in team OTA’s. ESPN AM1500 reported on Thursday that Stanford and NFL rules will prohit Gerhart from participating in team activities until he officially graduates.

Stanford will not complete it’s school year until June 9th. ESPN 155 reports that the ruling states, “no other off-campus minicamps, practices, or meetings for rookie players are permitted until May 16 or until after the final day of examinations for the player during his spring semester or equivalent, whichever is greater”.

Under this rule, Gerhart will be allowed to participate in the Vikings mandatory minicamp on June 11-13th, however the report states that Gerhart is scheduled to graduate on June 13th.

Minnesota’s voluntary OTA’s start next Tuesday.
