World’s Most Famous Ankle Repaired
The world’s most famous ankle, the one belonging to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Farve has been repaired. The ankle has been Tweeted about, photographed, and supposedly has an “X” somewhere on it.

Favre’s doctor, James Andrews addressed reporters yesterday and proclaimed that the surgically repaired ankle is progressing nicely and that Favre has a few more weeks of rehabilitation. The procedure cleaned up some scar tissue and removed some bone spurs.Andrews confirmed to reporters that this was the third time that he has performed surgery on Favre.
Vikings ink Moats, hedge against AP
The Minnesota Vikings have signed former Texans RB Ryan Moats right in the middle of Adrian Peterson’s recent issues. Peterson recently skipped a mandatory camp. Mike Florio over at PFT.com examines the Peterson situation a bit deeper.

Peterson skipped a mandatory workout to attend a function honoring him in his hometown. Vikings head coach Brad Childress told ESPN radio that he was a bit miffed by the annual AP day, and wanted Peterson at workouts. Somewhere in Mississippi, a 40 year old quarterback is watching SportsCenter.
Stupid Tweets Continue
The Tweets between Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe and New Orleans Saints S Darren Sharper continue. This is getting ridiculous at this point. On Wednesday Shiancoe sent out an image of Osama bin Laden with the caption, “I’m Darren Sharper.”
Sharper then responded that he was going to “bust you right under the chinstrap from the first play on. I don’t care about the fine. F the money.”

This stupidity has gone on about 2 weeks too long. We’ve seen the threats of bodily injury, the potential wagering of game checks, and now the blatant disregard for legal play on the field. Is Roger Goodell living in a vacuum? Has no one bothered to Tweet him? Is he ever going to step in and speak about this issue?
Vikings, Saints Tweets Tweak Some
Players from the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints last week got themselves involved in a virtual war of Tweets last week. Saints S Darren Sharper and Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe traded barbs via Twitter about who was going to put the X where.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has been eerily silent on this matter, and Tom Powers of the Pioneer Press has been the only other person other than myself to notice there’s something missing. Last Monday I wrote this about the situation wondering if the league might look into this matter, but since my post, the tweets escalated.
Back in the technological darkages, say 35 years ago, players made comments to reporters and those comments then made the opposing teams bulletin boards, hence the term bulletin board. It was an actual board made of cork, not an online message board.
But where has the league been on this issue of players actually making suggestions about injuring other players? I thought Lord Goodell was going to strictly enforce his code of conduct upon the league. Does on player publicly tweeting about possible physical harm to another players body which is surgically repaired count for anything?
And where Powers hits the nail on the head, was Sharper making a wager on playing for game checks with Shiancoe. Is Pete Rose in the house? Is that Art Schlichter on line 1? Somewhere Tim Donaghy even wants a piece of that action. Come on.
While the Commish says one thing about player conduct, I guess he’s too busy laying the ground work for his ever expanding Internationalist dream for the NFL, a Super Bowl in London and can’t be bothered with such trivial matters.
Pete Rozelle would never have tolerated this.
Michaels Sees Favre Back
The annual Favre Watch has begun on the Minnesota Vikings 2009 quarterback, and veteran play-by-play announcer Al Michaels sees Favre returning in 2010. You can watch Michaels comments here.

Michaels is so confident in fact he says he’d be stunned if Favre didn’t play another season. Said Michaels, “He knows he can play. He enjoys the game as much as anybody who’s ever played football.” Michaels continues, “I would be stunned-it would have to be something that would be physical and would not enable him to play at the level to which he wants to play”
Michaels of course was teamed with John Madden for several years in the broadcast booth, we’ve not heard yet from Madden on Favres’ return.
