Another indication of Favre’s return?

All eyes are scanning for every single possible indication of whether or not QB Brett Favre will return to the Twin Cities. Last week, there was a report that Favre’s children had already enrolled in a Minnesota private school. Today, Patrick Reusse is reporting via Twitter that Favre’s wife, Deanna has renewed her membership at Lifetime Fitness.
This really is starting to get a bit out of control. What’s next? A canvassing of real estate agents to see if he’s rented a place for the season? Has Mike Florio begun his 24 hour flight watch of planes coming in and out of Hattiesburg? Is the media paying the garbage men in Favre’s neighborhood so they can troll throw his trash?
Favre will return. I have no doubt after coming so close to returning to the Super Bowl, that he will return for another season.
Vikings have signed Chris Cook
According to Judd Zulgad of the Star-Tribune, the Minnesota Vikings have signed second round selection, Cb Chris Cook. Cook was selected in the second round after the Vikings traded out of their spot at number 30 in the first round.
Cook is a large corner, at 6’2″ and has been clocked running the 40 in the mid 4.4′s.
Favre playing until 50?
Brett Favre wants to play until he’s 50? Really? Then go ahead and tell us all that you’ll be back for your 20th season then and the football world can move along. Favre spoke to Jon Saraceno of USA Today and said he thought he was done after the NFC Championship game last January. Favre said as he walked off the podium after losing to the New Orleans Saints he said, “I’m done. I mean my heart…it was broken”.
After thinking about his future on the flight home Favre decided not to retire right away. Favre said, “I mean, there were tears flyin’. By the time we landed I am like I don’t think I can let these guys down”.

Favre told USA Today that though his thigh feels fine, his ankle still hurts. He compared all of his medical procedures to fixing up an old truck. “If you do enough patchwork, eventually you’re going to get a new one. Hell, you gotta quit sometime. Then again, maybe I will be doing this when I’m 50, who knows?”
Favre at 50? One thing is for certain if that were to happen, he should own virtually the entire section of the NFL record book dedicated to passing records. Somewhere, John Madden is smiling. Now how about just announcing that you’ll be back and get this over with.
Vikings sign another pick
The Vikings have signed 7th round selection, TE Mickey Schuler Jr. Schuler reportedly has agreed to a four year deal worth 1.85 million dollars. Included in the contract is a 63,000 dollar signing bonus. The signing of the 6’4″ 250 tight end is believed to trigger some other late round selections.
Schulers’ father, Mickey Schuler Sr, played the same position in the NFL for 14 seasons.
Vikings Peterson “Oh yeah I’ll be there”
With the Minnesota Vikings training camp set to open on Friday, RB Adrian Peterson told the media, “Oh yeah, I’ll be there”. It was reported this offseason that Peterson was unhappy with his contract, but AP told StarTribune reporter Judd Zulgad that he did not miss off season workouts over any contract disputes.

Peterson finished his comments by saying, “Without a shadow of a doubt. Whether there is contract talk or not, I’ll be there”. Last week Peterson told reporters that when he ran into Vikings QB Brett Favre at the ESPY’s that he could sense that by looking into Favre’s eyes that he will return for the 2010 season, adding that he told him, that Peterson wanted him to return.
Both players are key pieces to the Vikings in order for them to take their game to the next level and reach the Super Bowl in 2010.
