Sidney Rice confirms, he had surgery

Minnesota WR Sidney Rice has confirmed that he had off season surgery. Now the pieces are starting to fall into place for all the off season absences. But why did it take so long? It has not been revealed of exactly when he had the surgery.
This offseason, Rice said that he had seen several specialists that recommended surgery but he opted against it. If he just recently had surgery, why did he wait so long to have the procedure. How much time is he going to miss now?
The timing of this is just crazy. With the Vikings now hoping that Percy Harvin can be an integral part of the offense this coming season, the loss of Rice will be a big hit for the offense. If both of these players miss extended periods of time this season, the Vikings could suffer a major blow for their playoff aspirations in 2010.
Vikings Joe Webb just kicked Jackson or Rosenfels to the curb
Rookie Minnesota Vikings QB Joe Webb just pushed Vikings backups to the brink after running 48 yards for a touchdown. Webb was 7-14 with 47 yards passing, and then in the 4th quarter, Webb trying to lead the Vikings back, sprinted for 48 yards for a touchdown.
Webb is raw, but he has some really great talent, so what are the Vikings going to do now with 4 quarterbacks on the roster at the moment. At some point Rosenfels or Jackson is going to have to leave the team. Who leaves? Neither was as impressive as Webb in tonight’s audition.
Vikings WR positions in doubt, should Minnesota look at Vincent Jackson?

San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson has been given the go ahead to speak with the Seattle Seahawks. Should Minnesota be entering the discussion for Jackson? Yes, it is known that Jackson will face a suspension for three games from the league for his DUI arrests, and now a possible additional three game suspension is looming with him being placed on the roster exempt list, but given the current situation with Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, shouldn’t the Vikings be seriously looking at adding another playmaker as a backup?
I believe the Vikings might be able to petition the league to have Jackson’s second three game suspension lifted when he was added to the Roster Exempt list by getting Jackson to sign his tender and agreed to with a long term deal.
I mean, seriously here, the Viking gave Favre millions more to come back this season and now there are questions surrounding a few of his favorite offensive targets? Favre is going to make over 19,000 dollars each snap of the ball this season so if the Vikings were playing Texas Hold’Em, they are all in. What not get involved and pick up another serious deep threat? If the Vikings could get the second three game suspension lifted from the league, they won’t be missing much since the Vikings have a week 4 bye.
The Vikings brought in Javon Walker and Brandon Jones for workouts. Are you kidding me? 2010 is going to be the year the Vikings have to make their push, it’s now or never, pick up the phone and start calling about Vincent Jackson.
BREAKING– Vikings Harvin collapes at practice, players seen praying
Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin collapsed at practice this afternoon after vomiting. He was rushed away to the hospital by ambulance minutes later. Harvin is reported to have been watching practice, vomited and then simply collapsed. He fell on the field just minutes after coming on to the field.
Harvin has been absent from Vikings practice and it was speculated that he was dealing with migraine headaches which have plagued his football career. Vikings players were seen praying at mid field after Harvin was taken away by ambulance.
The Star Tribune is reporting that Harvin was scheduled to speak with the media at the end of practice this afternoon. Stay tuned for more details.
Vikings Favre will make HOW much for every touch?
[picappgallerysingle id="9487915"]
The plane has landed, the continuous coverage has ended, and now with the contract extension, Brett Favre will make how much on every touch of the ball? It’s a figure that’s a bit staggering, please be seated. Check it out right here. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady feel good today.
So the day after getting a raise, controversy immediately erupts. An unnamed player has told Yahoo sports that “Brett thinks Childress has no clue about offense”. Wow. Way to get started on the right foot (or ankle). Yahoo is reporting that the player said, “Brett doesn’t trust him”.
Either there is something seriously wrong in the Vikings locker room or there isn’t much to this story. Perhaps Favre is angeling to become a player/coach like Pete Rose did while with the Cincinnati Reds. Favre transcends the entire NFL so whats some signal calling during gametime? Perhaps Childress really is inept and realized that getting Favre back on board was his only option to try a run at the Super Bowl this season.
Well, stay tuned because this is going to get interesting in the coming weeks.
